Draped Bust Dollars were first produced in 1795. The first reverse design shows a “small” or “skinny” eagle. The small eagle Draped Bust Dollar was produced from 1795 through 1798. The large eagle or heraldic eagle reverse was produced from 1798 through 1803. Designed by Robert Scot, these are great, very collectible early US Dollars with most being in the Good to Very Fine grades. Uncirculated examples are very difficult to find. In the Draped Bust Dollar series most of the dates have interesting varieties for the collector that do not cost much more or no additional cost.
