The Barber Quarter or Liberty Head Quarter was produced from 1892-1916. The designer is Charles E. Barber, his initial is found at the truncation of the neck of Barber’s Liberty. The design was also used for dime and half dollar denominations of the same period. The mint mark on the Barber Quarter appears below the eagle on the reverse. All of the Barber series coins were heavily used and even common date BU coins are moderate to difficult to find. There are a number of challenging dates to collect among all the Barber coinage designs but not many design varieties, among the quarters there is one first year reverse design variety.
